About The Position
Desert Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Medical Director to join their team. The clinic, serving Yuma's pets and service animals for over 30 years, is an AAHA accredited hospital experiencing growth. They emphasize trust, compassion, stability, and communication in client relationships. The clinic boasts an excellent team of nurses and doctors, offering mentorship to new graduates and experienced veterinarians alike. They operate in a 10,000sf building equipped with modern technology, including digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house labs, a dental suite, surgical laser, and CT machine. The practice handles general practice, exotics, and orthopedics, with an average daily patient volume of 20. The support staff ratio is 3:1, and the case mix includes wellness, surgery, dentistry, and urgent care. The team culture is collaborative and teaching-focused.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited university (required)
- Compassionate, client-centered approach to care
- Strong communication and client-education skills
Responsibilities
- Practice exceptional medicine and surgery with the full support of medical systems and team.
- Collaborate with a team of skilled technicians, dedicated CSRs, and strong leadership.
- Mentor new graduates or established veterinarians.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive culture.
- Focus on continuous growth and excellence in patient care and client relationships.
