About The Position

Kennel technicians are responsible for the day-to-day care of pet resort guests and for the cleanliness and sanitation of the Pet Resort interior and exterior. This includes feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing, and monitoring the well-being of dogs and cats. The kennel tech will also occasionally assist doctors and technicians with pet restraint for procedures or anesthesia induction.

  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to admit and discharge pets.
  • Ability to reassure nervous "parents" that their pets are well-cared for.
  • Ability to remain professional and courteous to clients and co-workers.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once with many interruptions.
  • Ability to empathize with clients and remain compassionate and well-mannered under all circumstances.
  • Firm belief in the quality of care provided and ability to communicate this to clients.
  • Ability to learn and understand services and health recommendations and communicate them to clients.
  • Sufficient physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift and/or move heavy pets and objects.
  • Dexterity and confidence to handle and administer medications.
  • Dexterity and confidence to bathe pets who may be scared or aggressive.
  • Ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease.
