About The Position

Maritime Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Centre (MVESC) is hiring a Kennel Attendant to join their growing team in a brand-new, 24,000-square-foot emergency and specialty veterinary hospital in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized hospital while supporting medical teams in delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal care, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and wants to be part of a collaborative team that supports both pets and their owners.

Requirements

Compassionate, dependable, and professional attitude
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
Able to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, bending, and cleaning throughout the shift
Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment
Fluent English speaking and reading skills required

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital, including kennels, treatment areas, laundry, dishes, and common spaces
Restock hospital supplies and ensure work areas remain organized
Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care needs
Observe animal behavior and wellbeing, reporting concerns promptly to the medical team
Assist with safe animal restraint when needed
Complete additional hospital support duties as assigned
