About The Position

VCA Mueller Pet Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated, full-time experienced, and energetic Inventory Coordinator to join their team. This is a full-time position working Monday – Friday. The successful candidate must be a team player with a can-do attitude, great attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for managing veterinary supplies, pharmaceuticals, and pet foods, ensuring adequate stock levels while minimizing expenses. This role involves daily monitoring and evaluation of medical items to ensure availability for the medical team. The position requires utilizing the VCA ordering system and guidelines as delegated by the Assistant Hospital Manager, Hospital Administrator, and Medical Director.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience managing veterinary supplies, pharmaceuticals and pet foods.
  • Team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary Technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining an adequate stock of all products used, dispensed, and sold.
  • Organizing inventory so items are easy to locate.
  • Identifying products that need to be reordered.
  • Managing back order items by finding adequate replacement products as deemed appropriate by the Medical Director.
  • Maintaining accurate purchasing and inventory records.
  • Ordering, receiving, and inspecting shipments.
  • Rotating stock and monitoring expiration dates.
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with hospital staff by professionally communicating and dealing with concerns or problems, such as delays in orders.
  • Maintaining a professional relationship with available suppliers, vendors, and delivery truck drivers.
  • Conducting quarterly and annual inventory audits and monthly food log reporting.
  • Maintaining inventory records, inventory count spreadsheets, vendor files, and tracking orders.
  • Identifying hospital use of various drugs and products on a regular basis to ensure adequate stock but not overstocking of items.
