About The Position

Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) is seeking a dynamic Clinical Coordinator/Supervisor to lead and empower its nursing staff (8+ direct reports) in the Internal Medicine Department. This leader will inspire growth, uphold clinical standards, and cultivate a collaborative, compassionate environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care. The role is structured with a 25% focus on administrative responsibilities and a 75% focus on technical duties within the department. The Clinical Coordinator oversees the nursing staff and manages daily operations to ensure high standards of care and staff performance. This role involves supervisory responsibilities such as recruitment, performance management, and strategic planning to enhance department efficiency and care quality. The role is responsible for fostering a high-performing collaborative culture aligned with hospital-wide goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary hospital is required.
  • One year of experience working in a leadership role is required
  • Current experience working in an Internal Medicine Department
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree
  • Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)
  • Currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology program
  • fluency in multiple languages

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a hands-on leader by actively participating in patient care and guiding clinical teams to uphold high standards.
  • Manage day-to-day department functions, monitor workflow, and ensure all roles are staffed and aligned with patient care priorities.
  • Provide direct supervision and mentorship to nursing leads and staff. Conduct performance evaluations and support professional growth.
  • Create and adjust staff schedules to ensure proper shift coverage and adapt to changing department needs.
  • Lead hiring efforts, interview candidates, and build a cohesive, high-performing clinical team.
  • Oversee accurate payroll processing and manage PTO to maintain adequate staffing.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Trainer to implement targeted training that enhances skills and care quality.
  • Partner with leadership on performance-based compensation decisions, ensuring fairness and alignment with budget.
  • Model core values, promote an inclusive team environment, and mediate interpersonal issues to maintain a positive workplace.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of medical supplies and equipment to support seamless clinical operations.
