About The Position

Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) is seeking an Internal Medicine Technician to support its Internists and hospital team. This role focuses on facilitating efficient patient care for animals receiving oncology services. The technician will assist with various daily tasks and collaborate closely with all hospital departments. RBVH is a state-of-the-art facility with advanced diagnostics and amenities designed for exceptional pet care.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary hospital is required.
  • Strong anesthesia experience with knowledge of patient monitoring, anesthetic protocols, and recovery care
  • Strong client service skills with a focus on compassionate communication, client education, and delivering an exceptional client experience during all stages of patient care
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role

Nice To Haves

  • Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)
  • Prior experience working as a veterinary nurse in an Internal Medicine Department
  • Fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with advanced diagnostic procedures and treatments
  • Monitor and care for hospitalized internal medicine patients
  • Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples including blood, urine, and fecal specimens
  • Perform venipuncture and place intravenous catheters
  • Prepare patients for ultrasounds, endoscopy, and other diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Monitor anesthesia and sedation during procedures when needed
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
  • Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, and at-home care instructions
  • Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment
  • Assist with feeding tube placement and patient nutritional support
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate updates to veterinarians promptly
  • Ensure proper sanitation and organization of treatment and procedure areas
  • Coordinate with other departments to support comprehensive patient care
  • Provide compassionate handling and restraint of patients during examinations and procedures
