About The Position

The Hospital Operations Manager is responsible for leading the hospital’s clinical and operational performance by developing a high-performing veterinary technician team, driving efficient and consistent workflows, and delivering an exceptional client experience. This role ensures the hospital is fully staffed, well-trained, and aligned with organizational goals while maintaining accountability for daily operations, staff scheduling, and process execution. The manager fosters a positive, team-focused culture, strengthens cross-department collaboration, and upholds the hospital’s standards for quality care, communication, and service excellence.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Advanced knowledge in veterinary operations and procedures including surgery, laboratory techniques, digital imagery, pharmaceuticals, and critical or emergency medical care
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks with interruptions in an energetic environment with the pressure of periodic heavy workloads
  • Capability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to communicate complex processes/concepts to a wide variety of people, both in written and verbal form
  • Computer literate knowledge in Microsoft Office and the ability to utilize required veterinary clinic software

  • Identifies and hires the right people and improves the hospital’s potential with each new hire
  • Attracts and hires an inclusive team of Veterinary Technicians
  • Maintains a fully staffed hospital team through succession planning, building bench strength, and filling all open positions in a timely manner
  • Accurately assesses the strengths and developmental needs of technicians
  • Provides timely, specific feedback and coaching that results in improved performance
  • Promotes an environment that ensures technicians understand how they support the doctor team and the client’s experience
  • Provides challenging developmental assignments, while considering the individual strengths/preferences of team members
  • Consistently utilizes company performance management tools and processes
  • Promotes teamwork by creating a positive and rewarding atmosphere where people want to come to work
  • Creates enthusiasm, passion, and desire to excel by setting high standards and empowering others to achieve
  • Involves and leverages team in decision making and consistently recognizes individual and team performance
  • Maintains a hospital team with high morale and a high retention rate for Veterinary Technicians
