About The Position

LePar Animal Hospital is seeking a gentle, compassionate hospital assistant to join their team. This part-time position is ideal for individuals aspiring to gain hands-on experience in veterinary care. The hospital, established in 1948, is a modern, 8-doctor facility that practices both conventional and alternative therapies, serving the Evergreen Park / Oak Lawn / South Chicagoland area.

Requirements

• Loves working with animals.
• Mature and dependable.
• Ready to be part of a team.
• Some dog/cat handling experience.
• Willingness to be trained.

Nice To Haves

• Animal hospital or shelter experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians in patient care, including gentle restraint, walking surgery patients, and maintaining clean and comfortable accommodations.
• Clean and reset surgical and dental suites after procedures.
• Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and gowns.
• Restock and organize supplies.
• Manage laundry during shifts.
• Maintain hospital tidiness, including exam rooms, spot cleaning, and trash removal.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all pets on the premises.
