The main responsibility of the hospital’s Emergency Services Coordinator is to provide Emergency Department and Administrative support to the hospital. Collaborating within a team and independently in a fast-paced environment, efficiently managing multiple tasks with strong problem-solving and time management skills. Serving as a liaison between VESH and RDVMs, as well as between VESH and clients of the emergency department, handling inquiries, scheduling, and follow-up communications. Demonstrating excellent interpersonal communication skills, including teamwork, active listening, and flexibility, with a positive and professional demeanor. Possessing a comprehensive understanding of the services provided by each emergency clinician or being willing to learn, and accurately estimating procedure costs. Performing tasks meticulously with attention to detail, monitoring appointments to ensure compliance with scheduling guidelines, and organizing necessary paperwork. Ensuring all required paperwork is received including referral notifications, medical history, test results, and medication information. Preparing cost estimates and admission paperwork, entering laboratory results into Ezyvet, and forwarding patient related updates to RDVMs. Managing emergency related emails, addressing messages promptly, and forwarding them to the appropriate recipients. Providing updates, scheduling discharge times, performing patient discharges, and conducting virtual incision checks. Handling client callbacks and lab result notifications promptly, preparing and sending sympathy cards for patients, and ensuring schedules are accurately maintained. Making specialty confirmation calls, managing prescription refill requests, assisting with special projects, and fulfilling other assigned duties as necessary.
