About The Position

Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is expanding and opening a new hospital in Dunwoody, GA in October 2026. They are building their founding Diagnostic Imaging Team and seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs), Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVs), and skilled Veterinary Assistants with backgrounds in Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, or Specialty Care. Selected candidates will train at their Marietta hospital starting July-August 2026 before transitioning to the new Dunwoody facility. This role involves advanced diagnostics, complex medical cases, technical precision, and working with advanced imaging technology. The position offers opportunities for professional growth, including pursuing a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) pathway.

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of veterinary experience.
• Experience within Specialty Veterinary Hospitals, Emergency Veterinary Hospitals, ICU, Surgery, or High-Volume General Practice.
• Strong foundation in Veterinary Nursing, Patient Monitoring, Venipuncture and IV Catheter Placement, Anesthesia Monitoring, Diagnostic Imaging, and Client Communication.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, carry, and assist in restraining patients weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely handle animals of varying sizes, breeds, temperaments, and medical conditions.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced specialty veterinary hospital environment.
• Effective communication skills with clients, specialists, veterinarians, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for MRI, CT, Digital Radiography, and Fluoroscopy.
• Ensure optimal image quality and diagnostic accuracy, maintaining patient comfort and safety.
• Collaborate with radiologists and specialists to support efficient case flow and advanced imaging protocols.
• Perform anesthesia preparation, induction, and monitoring using ECG, Capnography, Pulse Oximetry, Blood Pressure Monitoring, and Temperature Monitoring.
• Recognize and respond to anesthetic changes, supporting safe patient recovery.
• Follow radiation safety protocols and best practices, utilizing proper PPE.
• Assist with maintenance and quality assurance of imaging equipment.
• Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory safety standards.
• Partner closely with radiologists, surgeons, internal medicine specialists, neurologists, cardiologists, and emergency/ICU teams.
• Support imaging needs for critical and specialty patients, assisting in stabilization efforts when necessary.
• Participate in CPR and emergency response initiatives.
• Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation.
• Ensure imaging suites remain organized and prepared.
• Deliver exceptional patient care and advocate for patient safety and diagnostic quality.
