About The Position

The University of Florida Emergency & Critical Care team is hiring an innovative ECC Clinical Education Specialist (ECC-CES) to help define how emergency medicine is taught across our ER, ICU, and Progressive Care Ward (PCW). This role will revolutionize the way career pathways are transformed from day-one Assistants to elite Specialist Technicians, empowering the team from within.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experienced Veterinary ECC Technician

Nice To Haves

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT)
  • Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency & Critical Care (VTS-ECC)
  • Experience developing educational programs, onboarding frameworks, competency-based learning pathways, or staff development initiatives.
  • Experience applying adult learning principles within a clinical, academic, or healthcare environment.
  • Experience developing and maintaining competency tracking systems, skills matrices, educational documentation, or training metrics.
  • Experience presenting continuing education programs, facilitating workshops, or speaking at professional conferences.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a veterinary teaching hospital, specialty practice, emergency hospital, or academic setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional growth, credentialing, specialization, and advancement of veterinary nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Educational Innovation: Manage our ECC Trainee Technician’s, training of new ECC hires, Nursing Internships, and volunteer coordination.
  • Modernize Learning: Utilize cutting-edge digital tracking tools to set top-tier clinical standards.
  • Mentor & Lead: Provide hands-on coaching, lead technician continuing education, guide staff toward VTS certification, and support seasoned VTS technicians with ongoing career advancement.
