This role is with VIP Petcare, a provider of convenient and affordable pet health and wellness services. California law (SB 669) allows Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) to provide preventative care services under indirect veterinarian supervision. In this role, an RVT will work with pet parents to determine the best care for their pets, offering services such as vaccines, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and wellness packages. For medical concerns beyond preventative care, pets will need to be seen by a veterinarian at a full-service hospital, though the Rockridge, Oakland clinic does have a veterinarian on staff for minor medical needs. Appointments are not required; walk-ins are welcome, or clients can sign up online to save a spot. The clinic offers a range of services including vaccines, preventative medications, wellness packages, disease exposure tests, FeLV/FIV tests, and fecal tests. Services like nail trims, microchips, anal gland expression, and ear cleanings are available with a current Rabies vaccine, without a full physical evaluation.
