This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift position in the Oncology Service for a Veterinary Attendant. The role is responsible for the care of inpatients and requires compassion, excellent communication skills, and empathy when dealing with patients and clients. The Attendant will assist in the examination room with outpatients and in-patient procedures, provide animal restraint for radiation therapy and chemotherapy administration, and assist with the management of animals admitted to the hospital. The Attendant supports veterinarians and technicians in the oncology area, radiation therapy, and other hospital areas as needed. The position requires knowledge of animal handling skills and the ability to communicate veterinary clinical information orally and in writing to clients and staff.
