About The Position
VCA Chiquita Animal Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This is a client-focused, 5-doctor practice that sees canine, feline, and exotic species patients. The practice emphasizes learning and development, encouraging applications from individuals currently enrolled in a technician certification program. VCA is committed to supporting technicians and assistants through continuing education and career development, fostering a diverse and inclusive community where associates can focus on their careers, happiness, and patient care. The schedule is full-time and requires weekend rotation. Compensation is $16 - $18 per hour, based on skill set and experience.

Responsibilities
- Support the team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.
- Utilize knowledge and skillset in areas such as compassionate patient care, client care and education, surgical preparation and assisting, anesthesia monitoring, dentistry, radiology, laboratory work, venipuncture, catheter placement, pharmacy, and medical record keeping.
