About The Position

Fox Creek Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant to work with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff to provide animal care and customer service. The role involves supporting examinations, treatments, and surgeries; handling animals; performing basic laboratory work; administering medications under veterinary supervision; maintaining records and clinic cleanliness; and communicating with pet owners.

The hospital operates seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Candidates must have open availability, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. The position pays $20.00–$24.00 per hour, based on skills, experience, and qualifications. Fox Creek Veterinary Hospital is an AAHA-accredited practice in Wildwood, Missouri, serving canine, feline, equine, and pocket pets.

Requirements

• At least one year of veterinary experience.
• Technical know-how in areas such as disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment.
• Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Open availability, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliability and a team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, including collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
• Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian.
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits.
• Clean and maintain the clinic, stock supplies, and ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
