About The Position
Lovet Pet Health Care is hiring a Veterinary Assistant for Sarival Animal Hospital. Under a doctor’s direct supervision, the Veterinary Assistant supports medical procedures and helps create positive, lasting impressions while building trust and loyalty with clients and their pets. The role includes communicating with clients about their pet’s care, maintaining medical records, carrying out clinical tasks, and helping keep the hospital and its equipment clean and ready for use. Lovet Pet Health Care is part of TAG - The Aspen Group. Lovet has 22 small-animal general-practice hospitals in the Greater Phoenix Metro area and emphasizes collaboration, courage, compassion, creativity, and service to local communities.
Requirements
- Comfort interacting calmly and compassionately with furry, fuzzy, feathered, and scaly animals.
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Certified veterinary technician.
- Associate degree in veterinary assisting.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor with medical procedures under the doctor’s direct supervision.
- Communicate with clients verbally and in writing about their pet’s care, answer questions, explain treatments, and obtain consent for treatment plans.
- Provide customer service to clients and their pets.
- Manage medical records using practice management software.
- Dispense medication; perform x-rays and blood draws; place catheters; obtain samples; provide treatments; operate diagnostic equipment; administer vaccines; and restrain animals when necessary.
- Set up, break down, clean, and maintain medical equipment.
- Assist with cleaning all areas of the hospital.
