About The Position
Lovet Pet Health Care is hiring a Veterinary Assistant for Sarival Animal Hospital. The Veterinary Assistant (technician) assists the doctor with medical procedures under the doctor’s direct supervision and helps create positive, lasting impressions while building trust and loyalty with clients and their pets. The role includes communicating with clients about their pets’ care, educating them on treatments, answering questions, and obtaining consent for treatment plans. It also includes delivering customer service, managing medical records, providing clinical support, and helping maintain a clean hospital.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
- Comfort interacting calmly and compassionately with furry, fuzzy, feathered, and scaly animals.
Nice To Haves
- Certified veterinary technician.
- Associate degree in veterinary assisting.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor with medical procedures under direct supervision.
- Communicate with clients about their pet’s care, answer questions, explain treatments, and obtain consent for treatment plans.
- Deliver customer service to clients and their pets.
- Manage medical records using practice management software.
- Dispense medication; perform x-rays and blood draws; place catheters; obtain samples; provide treatments; operate diagnostic equipment; administer vaccines; and restrain animals when needed.
- Set up, break down, clean, and maintain medical equipment.
- Assist with cleaning all areas of the hospital.
