About The Position

Countryside Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant to work alongside experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and support staff to help provide high-quality animal care and customer service. The role involves assisting with examinations, treatments, and surgeries; caring for animals; maintaining clinic spaces and records; and communicating with pet owners. This is a full-time position with four 8–10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday. The typical schedule includes two shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and two shifts from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The salary is $15.00–$17.00 per hour, based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. Countryside Veterinary Hospital is located in Idaho Falls and provides care for dogs and cats. Requirements

At least 1 year of veterinary experience.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
Administer medications and vaccinations under a veterinarian’s supervision.
Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed.
Maintain accurate medical records.
Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits.
Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
