About The Position

VCA Baring Blvd Animal Hospital is looking to add a veterinary assistant to the team in Sparks, NV. As the face of VCA Baring Blvd, the Veterinary Assistant sets the tone for the practice by building and maintaining each customer's trust and confidence. As a member of the VCA team, this role supports the Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients. Requirements

• Ability to restrain and assist in patient exams and routine procedures
• Ability to take detailed medical histories and patient vitals
• Ability to fill prescriptions (as allowed by law)
• Ability to perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
• Ability to provide compassionate care for hospitalized animals
• Ability to maintain medical records
• Ability to assist Doctor and Technician staff as needed
• Ability to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment

Responsibilities

• Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures
• Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals
• Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law)
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
• Providing compassionate care for our hospitalized animals
• Maintaining medical records
• Assisting our wonderful Doctor and Technician staff as needed
• Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment
