About The Position
Winder Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This AAHA accredited facility offers a wide range of services including wellness care, urgent care, surgery, high-speed dentistry, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, and orthopedic surgery. The role involves direct patient care, client communication, and supporting veterinary procedures. The hospital emphasizes opportunities for training, continuing development, and career growth.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
- Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
- Must be able to properly restrain pets
- Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities
- Pet restraint
- Triage incoming patients
- Collection and analysis of lab samples
- Diagnostic imaging
- Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
- Administration of medications
- Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Anesthetic management
