About The Position

Campus Veterinary Clinic is a long-standing general practice hospital with deep ties to the community, located in beautiful Berkeley, California. Our goal is to provide compassionate and quality medicine while striving to make an impact in our community and treat our patients/clients like family. We are currently looking to hire either full-time or part-time Veterinary Assistants to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and being part of a fun, supportive team. Campus Veterinary Clinic aims to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent and compassionate medical care. Requirements

• 3+ years clinical experience as a veterinary assistant or receptionist
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Skilled in venipuncture (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
• Excellent client communication/education
• Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members

Nice To Haves

• Surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used
• Comfortable with monitoring general anesthesia and surgical assistance

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients
• Surgical assisting
• Drawing blood and running bloodwork
• Knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning
• Proper animal handling and restraint
• Client education
• Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
• Perform basic exam procedures
• Perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
• Monitor general anesthesia
• Perform microscope (ear and fecal cytology)
• Use IDEXX in-house laboratory
