About The Position

VCA Alameda East is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join their radiology department in Denver, CO. The position is full-time, working Sunday-Wednesday, four 10-hour shifts. VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital, established in 1971 and a 24-hour hospital since 1974, prides itself on providing outstanding, innovative patient care. As a member of the VCA team, the Veterinary Assistant will support Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients, aiming to deliver an outstanding client experience and exceptional patient care. Requirements

  • Ability to restrain and assist in patient exams and routine procedures
  • Ability to take detailed medical histories and patient vitals
  • Ability to fill prescriptions (as allowed by law)
  • Ability to perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
  • Ability to provide compassionate care for hospitalized animals
  • Ability to maintain medical records
  • Ability to assist Doctor and Technician staff as needed
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment

Responsibilities

  • Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures
  • Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals
  • Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law)
  • Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
  • Providing compassionate care for our hospitalized animals
  • Maintaining medical records
  • Assisting our wonderful Doctor and Technician staff as needed
  • Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment
