About The Position
The Veterinary Assistant supports patient care and the medical team at Mercy Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort. The role includes hands-on care for animals, assisting veterinarians and technicians, supporting client visits with scheduling, payments, and communications, and maintaining a safe, clean hospital through clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Confidence and skill handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills, including laboratory, pharmacy, nursing, and radiology.
Responsibilities
- Assist the medical team with hands-on patient care, treating animals with compassion and respect.
- Anticipate and support the needs of veterinarians and technicians to maintain an efficient, collaborative workflow.
