About The Position

Pet Medical Center of Pasco is hiring an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their growing team. Requirements

  • One to two years of veterinary assistant experience preferred
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain a Washington Medication Clerk License (training provided)
  • Confidence with patient handling, venipuncture, radiographs, and surgical assistance, or a strong desire to continue developing those skills
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Compassion for patients, clients, and teammates
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain active throughout the day
  • Team-first mindset with a commitment to continuous learning

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures
  • Obtain patient histories, assist with patient handling, and provide compassionate nursing care
  • Perform venipuncture, radiographs, laboratory sample collection, and in-house diagnostics
  • Assist with surgical preparation, anesthesia support, and patient recovery
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Educate clients regarding medications, preventive care, and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
  • Work with a wide variety of patients, including companion animals, birds, reptiles, and other exotic species
  • Collaborate with teammates to provide exceptional patient care every day
