About The Position

Quality Veterinary Care is a busy, 4-doctor general small animal practice in Elmont, NY, offering comprehensive services including preventative care, surgery, dentistry, in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, and ultrasonography. We are located on Long Island, with easy access to New York City via the Long Island Railroad. The area offers good schools and a healthy work-life balance with popular local attractions. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 9 AM to 8 PM (Wednesdays until 7 PM) and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 2 PM.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred

Must be able to properly restrain pets
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset

Nice To Haves

Proficient in sample collection
Obtaining medical histories
Processing laboratory tests and radiographs
Anesthesia monitoring

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
