Veterinary Assistant Experienced
About The Position
VCA Capeway Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join its full-service hospital in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. The role helps create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients and delivers an outstanding client experience to support exceptional patient care. The hospital describes a supportive culture that values individual skills and personalities and encourages medical growth. This is a full-time position working 35–40 hours per week on a four-day work week. The schedule includes every other Saturday, with an additional weekday off when scheduled to work the weekend. Employees have two set days off per week, and the third day off rotates when working Saturday. This is a closing shift: expected end times are around 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6 p.m. Friday, and 4 p.m. Saturday. Compensation is $20.00–$26.00 per hour, based on skill set and experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate patient care.
- Educate clients and support client care.
- Administer medications and provide pharmacy support.
- Collect and process laboratory samples.
- Assist with diagnostic imaging.
- Prepare for and assist with surgery.
- Monitor anesthesia.
- Support dentistry procedures.
- Maintain medical records.
- Help create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.
