About The Position

Harbor Point Animal Hospital in Mooresville, North Carolina, is hiring an experienced Veterinary Assistant for its full-service companion-animal hospital. The practice provides wellness care, surgery, dentistry, and other veterinary services, with fear-free handling incorporated into patient visits. It has been AAHA-accredited since 2017 and was named AAHA’s 2025 Accredited Practice of the Year.

The Veterinary Assistant helps keep exam rooms and appointments running efficiently, prepares patients for care, supports surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures, and anticipates the needs of the medical team. The role also involves calm, safe patient handling and helping clients leave visits informed and reassured. The schedule is four day shifts per week, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with approximately one to two Saturdays every four weeks and no required holiday shifts. Compensation is $21.00 to $24.00 per hour, based on experience and role alignment.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a veterinary setting.
• Advanced exam room skills, including efficiently running rooms and keeping appointments on schedule.
• Strong patient restraint and handling skills.
• Availability for four shifts per week from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, including approximately one to two Saturdays every four weeks.

Responsibilities
