Requirements

Confidence in patient handling and core veterinary assistant skills, or a strong desire to continue learning
Experience with preventive care, vaccines, and client education
Experience obtaining radiographs, performing venipuncture, sample collection, and in-house laboratory testing
Knowledge of anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
Excellent communication and client service skills
Positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to teamwork
Passion for veterinary medicine and helping pets and the people who love them

Responsibilities

Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vital signs, and patient assessments
Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and procedures
Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs
Perform in-house laboratory testing, including CBC/chemistry, urinalysis, cytology, and fecal testing
Educate clients regarding medications, discharge instructions, preventive care, and treatment plans
Maintain clean, organized treatment and exam areas while following infection control protocols
Work collaboratively with teammates to provide exceptional patient care
