About The Position

VCA Northeast Animal Hospital is expanding its Patient Care Team and seeking a Veterinary Assistant! Schedule: Full-time with rotating Saturdays. Compensation: $17 - 19/ hour and is based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and other relevant credentials. Why join the VCA Northeast team? Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations and surgical procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.
  • Restrain animals safely and humanely for procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Educate clients on general pet care and post-operative instructions.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all hospital areas.
