About The Position
DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is hiring a full-time Blood Bank and Hospice Level 2 Veterinary Assistant to join their team. The Blood Bank and Hospice Level 2 Veterinary Assistant supports both Blood Bank and Hospice Services on the second floor of DoveLewis North. This role assists with patient care, appointments, procedures, and daily department operations while supporting DVMs and certified veterinary technicians as needed. Responsibilities also include maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of patient care and work areas. A genuine love of and respect for all animals is required, along with an appreciation of the human-animal bond and the sensitive nature of hospice care.
Requirements
- 1+ year working as a veterinary assistant, or a combination of experience working in the veterinary field and current enrollment in an AVMA accredited tech program.
- A genuine love of and respect for all animals.
- Appreciation of the human-animal bond and the sensitive nature of hospice care.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred minimum of one year emergency or other specialty small animal care experience.
- Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above.
Responsibilities
