Experienced Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
Priority Pet Urgent Care is opening a brand-new, state-of-the-art urgent care hospital in Palm Beach, FL, in November 2026. We are open Thursday through Monday from 3 pm to 11 pm and are dedicated to providing convenient, high-quality care for pets with urgent medical needs while ensuring an exceptional experience for clients and team members. Our mission is to offer accessible, quality veterinary care with a focus on making clients feel their pets are our top priority. We foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, compassion, and excellence, aiming to create an environment where our teams can grow and succeed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant
- Ability to properly restrain pets
- Evening and weekend shift availability
- Compassionate and calm team player
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
Nice To Haves
- Proficient in sample collection
- Obtaining medical histories
- Processing laboratory tests and radiographs
- Anesthesia monitoring
Responsibilities
- Animal restraint
- Triage of incoming patients
- Collection and analysis of lab samples
- Diagnostic imaging
- Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
- Administration of medications
- Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Anesthetic management
