About The Position

Interested in trying Veterinary Emergency or Specialty medicine? We are seeking experienced Veterinary Assistants to support our team! Located near Santa Rosa in Rohnert Park, CA, VCA Animal Care Center of Sonoma County, is a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital that has been caring for the pets of our community for over 40 years. Our hospital is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment that includes MRI, CT, ultrasound, endoscopy and fluoroscopy. With access to a wide variety of equipment and resources, you will be able to provide the highest quality care to our patients. Advance your skills by having the opportunity to work with our various specialty departments: Emergency, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Neurology. As a relief technician you will receive training of our flow and protocols prior to being scheduled for a shift. Once on shift you will also be paired with an experienced team member in that department to give you further support as you learn the ways of specialty and emergency. Requirements

  • Experienced Veterinary Assistants.
  • Ability to learn hospital flow and protocols.
  • Willingness to be trained and supported by experienced team members.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality medical and client care.
  • Familiarity with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment is a plus, but training will be provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Veterinary Emergency or Specialty medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Support the team by providing relief coverage for shifts.
  • Receive training on hospital flow and protocols.
  • Work with an experienced team member for support while learning specialty and emergency procedures.
  • Provide high-quality medical and client care.
  • Assist in providing care to patients using advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment including MRI, CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, and fluoroscopy.
  • Gain experience in various specialty departments: Emergency, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Neurology.
