About The Position

Sun City Animal Hospital, a 2-doctor small animal practice in Indian Land, South Carolina, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This role supports appointments, treatments, procedures, patient care, and overall hospital operations. Requirements

• Prior veterinary experience preferred (1+ year ideal)
• Compassionate, calm under pressure, and a true team player
• Strong communicator with excellent multitasking skills and a positive, can-do attitude
• Comfortable and confident handling and safely restraining pets of all sizes and temperaments
• Hands-on experience with sample collection, obtaining medical histories, and assisting with laboratory testing and radiographs

Nice To Haves

• Eager to learn and build skills
• Surgical and anesthesia experience is a strong plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Safely and compassionately handling and restraining pets during exams and procedures
• Triaging incoming patients and assisting with patient flow
• Collecting and processing laboratory samples and assisting with diagnostic testing
• Taking and assisting with radiographs (x-rays) and other diagnostic imaging
• Providing nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients with a range of conditions and stability levels
• Administering medications and treatments as directed
• Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients regarding treatment plans and patient care
• Assisting with surgical preparation, surgical support, and anesthetic monitoring
