About The Position

Veterinary Medical Center of Woodland Hills is actively seeking a Full-Time Experienced Veterinary Assistant. The ideal candidate would be compassionate towards our patients, clients, and the team. We are looking for someone with at least two years of experience but are willing to train the right candidate. A positive and motivating attitude is a must. The ideal candidate would be confident in proper animal handling and restraint, rooming patients, assisting the technicians and veterinarians, helping with surgical recovery, drawing blood, and understanding the importance of client education and is a positive and supportive team player. If you are that experienced veterinary assistant who is looking for that exciting, no day ever the same, fast-paced, fun, energetic vet hospital then we look forward to hearing from you. We are adding a Veterinary Assistant to our growing team of 5 doctors. We just finished expanding but are currently in the middle of remodeling. We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant who can help us as a team and is motivated to learn. We strive to provide the best care for our patients by working seamlessly with each other. Experience is required.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience
  • Proper animal handling and restraint
  • Must be comfortable with client communication, or open to developing this skill.
  • Venipuncture and performing in-house blood work (Idexx)
  • Obtaining radiographs with knowledge of proper positioning
  • Prepare patients for surgery
  • Experience monitoring anesthesia
  • Have a knowledge base of commonly used medications

  • Provide demonstrations for owners (ie. ear cleaning, giving medications, etc)
  • Generate medication labels, and fill prescriptions
  • Assisting clients with a positive and helpful attitude
  • Cleaning and restocking
