About The Position

VCA Aventura Animal Hospital & Pet Resort is seeking an experienced, full-time Veterinary Assistant to join its busy, supportive, and collaborative team. The hospital is focused on delivering a high standard of patient care. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 35–40 hours per week, with compensation of $22.00–$27.00 per hour based on skill set and experience. Veterinary Assistants support veterinarians and technicians in animal care, helping patients receive appropriate care in a safe and comfortable manner. The position includes assisting with examinations, treatments, and procedures; animal handling and restraint; patient care and records; and support for daily hospital operations. Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary, animal care, or pet boarding environment is preferred.
Comfort with animal handling and restraint.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Positive attitude and desire to grow within the veterinary field.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures.
Safely restrain animals for examinations and treatments.
Take vital signs and collect patient histories.
Administer medications under supervision.
Clean and maintain exam rooms, surgical suites, and equipment.
Provide compassionate care and support to clients and patients.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with inventory.
Support the hospital team in daily operations and patient flow.
