About The Position
VCA Dakota Ridge Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Location: Littleton, CO Pay: $19.50- 21.50/hr. Requirements
- Previous veterinary experience preferred (6+ months ideal)
- Ability to work on feet for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced or stressful situations
- Someone who takes initiative and anticipates doctors needs
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Accountability and reliability
- Commitment to continuous learning and growth
Responsibilities
- Safely restrain patients for exams and procedures
- Assist technicians with diagnostics including radiographs, lab sample collection, and in-house testing
- Prepare and maintain treatment areas
- Work directly with the Veterinarian in exam rooms
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment and exam rooms
- Provide compassionate, professional communication with clients
- Review discharge instructions and reinforce doctor recommendations
- Ensure accurate documentation of services and treatments
- Maintain inventory and restock supplies
- Follow hospital SOPs and safety protocols
- Support workflow efficiency during high-volume appointment times
