About The Position

Animal Family Veterinary Care Center, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, is looking for an experienced part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our Team! We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. The role will involve assisting our veterinarians in both General Practice and Emergency Care settings. This is a dynamic position that requires flexibility, compassion, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital or similar setting is preferred
Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology
Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively
Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays
Willingness to learn and take direction from veterinarians and senior staff members
Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their owners
Maintain cleanliness and organization of hospital and equipment
Handle and restrain animals safely and effectively
Participate in the care and feeding of hospitalized patients
Adhere to hospital core values, policies and procedures at all times
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the highest standard of patient care
