About The Position

Tarzana Pet Clinic is seeking a Full-time experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their amazing team. They are a busy, small animal general practice with three doctors looking for a full-time veterinary assistant to help enhance their partnership with their clients and patients. The role involves creating lifelong relationships with patients to provide trusted personalized care. Responsibilities include restraining animals during examinations and treatments, maintaining hospital cleanliness, preparing laboratory samples, administering medications and immunizations, and more.

Requirements

• 3 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
• Familiarity with Cornerstone preferred
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint of cats and dogs
• Ability to perform nursing care in a veterinary hospital setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Restrain during examinations and treatments
• Maintain hospital cleanliness
• Prepare laboratory samples
• Administer medications and immunizations
• Collect laboratory samples for urinalysis, cytology, bloodwork, fecal analysis
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
• Anesthesia monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative surgical care
• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology positioning
• Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment
