About The Position

Grove City Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant who is passionate about helping pet owners care for their furry family members and believes that exceptional patient care starts with teamwork, communication, compassion, knowledge, and commitment. Our assistants are skilled medical professionals and trusted partners to our veterinarians. We are looking for someone eager to use their patient care skill set while contributing to a positive, supportive culture where every team member matters. The hospital has been serving pets since 1975 and has grown to include two full-time veterinarians and a well-trained staff.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently (more with assistance).
  • Commitment to OSHA safety standards and proper PPE use.
  • Basic computer proficiency, working knowledge or willingness to learn EzyVet PiMS software, Vetcove Home Delivery, PetDesk, and Idexx bench top machines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in medical procedures.
  • Obtain patient histories, record vital signs, and provide client education.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples; perform in-house diagnostics.
  • Take and maintain radiographs using proper safety protocols.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
  • Provide safe animal handling (using Fear-Free and Low Stress Handling techniques) and compassionate patient care.
  • Maintain clean, organized exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment.
  • Communicate clearly with doctors and team members regarding patient care plans and client concerns.
