Veterinary Eye Centers are New York City’s first specialty practice group dedicated exclusively to advanced animal eye care. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our founding clinical team. Requirements
- 1-2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in GP, ER, or specialty
- We strongly prefer candidates who are License-Eligible (actively enrolled in an online Veterinary Technician program like Penn Foster).
- An interest and excitement for Veterinary Ophthalmology
- Experience with practice management software, (ezyVet is our in-house platform)
- Adaptability, being able to pivot effortlessly while demonstrating a positive attitude with clients and co-workers
- Sound judgment with the ability to work ethically, independently, and responsibly
- Dedication to excellent service for each client and patient and respect for coworkers
- Flexibility, curiosity, and the desire to help build something new
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients including supporting both consultations and Ophthalmic surgical sanitization
- Assist Doctor and Technicians in providing a seamless client and patient appointment experience
- Educating clients about their pet’s care
- Gathering thorough patient histories to support the medical team
- Handling and restraint of patients for consultation exams and patient sample collection for Ophthalmic disease testing
- Handling and submission of patient samples to in-house and external laboratory
- Thorough cleaning, organization, and stocking of appointment exam rooms and appointment treatment area
