About The Position

The Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center (EPVMC) is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant for its expanding Ophthalmology Department. This role is for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, highly specialized environment and enjoys hands-on patient care, working closely with patients, clients, and a dedicated specialty team. The position supports advanced veterinary medicine and is ideal for someone eager to learn.

Requirements

• 1-2 Year of general practice experience or equivalent role
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-acuity situations
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to learn and grow in a highly specialized department

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient restraint and handling during ophthalmic examinations and procedures
• Prepare examination rooms, equipment, and supplies for appointments and procedures
• Obtain patient histories and assist with patient intake
• Support diagnostics and treatments under the direction of the veterinarian and technical staff
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and client communication
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department
• Stock supplies and assist with inventory management
• Support anesthesia and recovery processes as directed
• Help ensure a positive experience for both patients and their families
