About The Position
VCA TLC Pasadena Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is looking for a Veterinary Assistant for overnight shifts! Known for industry-leading medicine, we support our community and network of veterinary professionals in the greater Los Angeles area with education, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and relationship development. We are improving on how we support clinicians and technical staff by adding qualified Veterinary Assistants to our growing hospital in our Emergency and ICU departments. Our team is united by our passion for veterinary care as we work collaboratively every day to offer the best medicine possible.
Requirements

Nice To Haves
- Veterinary and ICU experience: 3 years
Responsibilities
- Assist doctors with exams, treatments, and procedures
- Venipuncture and IVC placement
- Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
- Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
- Recognize subtle change in clinical status
- Discharge instructions with clients
- Complete estimates, basic record keeping
- Surgical preparation
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Advanced Phlebotomy
- Monitoring Ventilator Cases
- Apheresis
- Diagnostic imaging (radiographs and assisting with ultrasounds)
