About The Position

VCA Knowles Snapper Creek Animal Hospital is seeking a talented and experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Overnight team full time. We have opportunities available in General and Primary care, as well as Emergency and Critical Care and offer flexible work hours, day or night! This role is suited for the experienced technician, but we are excited to provide developmental training for someone that is just getting started and wants to move forward in their career at a hospital that provides an array of opportunities to develop a multitude of skills. We are a 24/7 Emergency & Primary Care hospital staffed with an amazing team of compassionate and experienced veterinarians, highly skilled technicians/ assistants and an awesome team of well-trained support staff. Requirements

  • 2-3 years of veterinary experience preferred
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Able to think on your feet
  • Candidates must be positive and motivated

Responsibilities

  • Providing compassionate care for ALL patients
  • Collecting patient histories & assisting in thorough physical exams
  • Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
  • Client communication and education
  • Ability to properly triage patients
  • Full Technician/ Assistant Skill Utilization
  • Venipuncture / IV Catheter placement
  • Proper Patient Sample handling
  • Run Diagnostic Lab Machines
  • Advancing towards FULL Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)
