About The Position

Bensonhurst Veterinary Care (BVC) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their team. BVC is a small animal general practice open seven days a week, offering a wide range of services including wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, surgical procedures, dentistry, laser therapy, behavior counseling, and urgent care. The practice is located in Brooklyn, NY, offering a good work-life balance with proximity to Manhattan's attractions and local amenities like Prospect Park.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant

Proficient in sample collection
Obtaining medical histories

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
