About The Position

VCA Mission Animal Hospital, an AAHA-accredited general practice and three-doctor hospital, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join its team. The role provides nursing care to animals and assists veterinarians and technicians with procedures, patient monitoring, and client communication. The hospital is located at 25 W Mission Rd, Alhambra, CA 91801. The stated pay range is $18–$22 per hour. The position is full-time. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday for two hours for boarding. The role requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Requirements

Documented previous animal hospital experience.
Current California RVT license.
Flexibility in hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Customer service skills, including phone skills.
Working knowledge of computers.
Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to critically ill and injured animals.
Assist veterinarians and technicians with medical procedures, including triage, diagnostics, and treatments.
Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition.
Perform catheter placement and venipuncture.
Assist with radiology and patient recovery.
Communicate with clients, including loading exam rooms and presenting estimates.
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.
Collaborate with other members of the veterinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
