The Veterinary Assistant is an important member of the medical team, helping the clinic run smoothly while providing high-quality care to patients. This hands-on role supports veterinarians and technicians with appointments, treatments, procedures, diagnostics, and hospitalized patient care. The assistant also helps clients feel supported through education and communication, and contributes to a clean, organized, collaborative clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with appointments, treatments, and procedures.
• Safely restrain patients and help make visits as stress-free as possible.
• Support patient care from check-in through discharge.
• Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces.
• Assist with diagnostics, including radiographs, laboratory samples, and patient monitoring.
• Help care for hospitalized patients, including feeding, cleaning, walking, and providing comfort.
• Educate clients about medications, preventative care, and post-treatment instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the clinic.
• Support smooth clinic flow while multitasking.
• Contribute compassion, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
