Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is growing its Small Animal team and is looking for caring, motivated Veterinary Assistants for both daytime and overnight shifts. Whether you already have veterinary experience or are looking to continue building your clinical skills, this role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced veterinarians and technicians in a collaborative, 24-hour hospital. Responsibilities
- Assisting veterinarians and licensed technicians during examinations and medical procedures
- Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats for treatments and diagnostics
- Preparing patients and equipment for exams, procedures, and surgery
- Collecting laboratory samples and performing basic in-house testing as directed
- Administering medications and treatments under veterinary supervision
- Taking diagnostic radiographs following hospital protocols
- Preparing prescription medications and assisting with refill requests
- Recording patient information, treatments, and charges in the medical record system
- Communicating with clients in a professional and compassionate manner
- Helping maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment area
