Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant, Veterinary Technician, Kennel Assistant, or Animal Care Technician.
  • Experience working in a veterinary hospital, animal clinic, or animal care environment.
  • Strong animal handling and restraint skills, with the ability to safely support patients during examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Ability to assist veterinarians and technicians during routine medical procedures, including patient preparation and support during treatments.
  • Familiarity with basic veterinary clinical workflows, including exam room preparation, patient intake, and assisting with diagnostics.
  • Strong attention to detail when observing patient behavior, recording information, and supporting medical documentation.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary clinical environment, including treatment areas and medical equipment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a willingness to collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and client service teams.
  • Comfort interacting with pet owners and providing compassionate client support and basic education when appropriate.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and remain organized in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment.
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn, with motivation to grow within the veterinary field.
  • A genuine passion for animal care and supporting high-quality veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Safely handle and restrain canine and feline patients.
  • Monitor patient behavior and report changes in condition.
  • Support hospitalized patient care and comfort.
  • Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces.
  • Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures including radiographs and laboratory testing.
  • Help prepare patients for surgery or treatment.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces throughout the hospital.
  • Assist with patient intake and discharge.
  • Provide basic client education regarding pet care and medications.
  • Maintain accurate medical records.
  • Restock medical supplies and maintain inventory organization.
  • Help ensure a smooth and efficient workflow within the hospital.
