Requirements
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant, Veterinary Technician, Kennel Assistant, or Animal Care Technician.
- Experience working in a veterinary hospital, animal clinic, or animal care environment.
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills, with the ability to safely support patients during examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to assist veterinarians and technicians during routine medical procedures, including patient preparation and support during treatments.
- Familiarity with basic veterinary clinical workflows, including exam room preparation, patient intake, and assisting with diagnostics.
- Strong attention to detail when observing patient behavior, recording information, and supporting medical documentation.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary clinical environment, including treatment areas and medical equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a willingness to collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and client service teams.
- Comfort interacting with pet owners and providing compassionate client support and basic education when appropriate.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and remain organized in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn, with motivation to grow within the veterinary field.
- A genuine passion for animal care and supporting high-quality veterinary medicine.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Safely handle and restrain canine and feline patients.
- Monitor patient behavior and report changes in condition.
- Support hospitalized patient care and comfort.
- Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces.
- Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures including radiographs and laboratory testing.
- Help prepare patients for surgery or treatment.
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces throughout the hospital.
- Assist with patient intake and discharge.
- Provide basic client education regarding pet care and medications.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Restock medical supplies and maintain inventory organization.
- Help ensure a smooth and efficient workflow within the hospital.
