About The Position

Skylos Sports Medicine, a BluePearl Veterinary Partner, is looking for a highly motivated and team-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Frederick, MD! Founded by Drs. Peter and Faith Lotsikas, Skylos Sports Medicine, is an orthopedic and rehabilitation specialty practice that provides a unique concierge level of care for patients and their guardians in Ellicott City and Frederick, Maryland. Schedule: Tues-Fri, 8am-6pm

Requirements

Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
Understand classification of commonly-used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
Perform phlebotomy.
Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
Possess a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients assigned ASA I or II classifications.
Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrates proficiency in designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.
