About The Position

Priority Pet Urgent Care is opening a new state-of-the-art clinic in Leland, NC, offering urgent care for pets daily from 12 PM to 12 AM. We are seeking experienced and well-rounded veterinary assistants to join our team. Our mission is to provide accessible, quality care with a focus on the pet's priority. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of veterinary experience preferred.
  • Previous veterinary receptionist or client service experience is preferred.
  • Compassionate, calm, and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, urgent care environment while effectively multitasking and prioritizing patient and client needs.
  • Must be able to safely and properly restrain pets.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to confidently interact with clients in person and over the phone.
  • Experience with client check-in/check-out, payment processing, and maintaining accurate medical records is preferred.
  • Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring is a plus.
  • Self-starter with a desire to continuously expand your knowledge and advance your veterinary skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1 year of veterinary experience.
  • Previous veterinary receptionist or client service experience.
  • Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient care including pet restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of laboratory samples, diagnostic imaging, nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients, medication administration, surgical preparation and assistance, anesthetic monitoring and management.
  • Clearly communicate treatment plans with clients.
  • Greet clients and patients.
  • Answer phones.
  • Check patients in and out.
  • Process payments.
  • Maintain accurate medical records.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to create a welcoming experience for every client.
